Results Round 24, 2026

Welcome to the final instalment for season 2026. We go into round with Fletcher holding a decisive lead. A number of contestants were seemingly fighting it out for the minor placings, but was anyone willing to take some big gambles in a bid to shake up the leaderboard?
It seems an opportunity was missed when none of the main challengers tipped the Gold Coast to knock off St Kilda. Sure, its always risky tipping the Suns, but probably not as precarious as relying on the Saints. Only six people got it right.
The picture was no clearer after Brisbane’s predictable win over Collingwood. No daring stabs at the big 10 goal margin from the big contenders. The loss did not affect their final ladder position, so the Pies coach was probably treating it as another win.
Given their recent form, Carlton’s big win over Freo should not have been a surprise, but once again none of the leaders tipped them. Another opportunity missed. So far, the battle for tipping glory was generating as much excitement as a five-day long scrabble game.
Surely someone would go out on a limb and take a risk on the Doggies to beat Melbourne? After all, the Dogs are liable to do anything. Nothing doing – the Dogs caused the upset, but the leading tipsters were all barking up the wrong tree with Melbourne.
On Saturday night, the Cats and the Crows did what was expected with an easy home ground wins against the Tigers and Giants respectively. These results were anything but a shock and hardly caused a ripple on our leaderboard. However, Phil made his presence felt with a correct margin. The Cats and Crows are safely esconced in the top six. Its mothballs for Richmond and GWS. Pity there was no top ten back when the Tigers always managed to finish ninth.
It seemed Fletcher had little to fear going into the last three games on the Sunday. No major challenger had tipped an upset and no one had nailed a margin. Still, there were at least two more tricky matches to navigate. Some made the brave choice to pick Essendon against Port, but this ultimately proved to be unwise. Let’s face it, no one got to the top of this year’s leaderboard by picking Essendon. Well done to Caragh, Brydie and Kerryn who all got the correct margin.
After a disastrous week dominated by the shocking actions and suspension of some star players, the general feeling was that this was a good week to tip against Sydney. What many failed to remember is that there is rarely a good week to pick North. The Swans may not have had the five ‘carpenters’ in their side, but they still managed to give North a hammering. It was good news for those who nailed it with the Swans.
By now, the final placings had been decided with almost everyone correctly predicting Hawthorn’s easy win over the Eagles in the last game.
There were six people who found seven winners for the round. Well done to Craig C, Fraser, Mark C, Phil, Rod and Ziggy. Phil did best with 300 points.

And so to the final table and it is no surprise that Fletcher has prevailed to claim First Prize. Once Fletcher found the lead in Round 15 he was never headed again. Congratulations and well done for a fine display of top-notch tipping.
Second Prize is awarded to Nick, who made a rush late in the season and safely secured the runner-up position. Third position kept changing each week and so it did again. As a result, Third Prize goes to Izzy & Amelia, who record their second successive podium finish. And let’s not forget Mark C who wins the prize for the best weekly score. Hooray, hooray.

So that’s it for another year. We had no less than 54 contestants this year, so the competition is fierce. We really appreciate everyone’s enthusiastic participation and we hope everyone had fun. We look forward to seeing you all again next year.
